Report: Buffalo trying to trade up with Vikings?

Charley Casserly of the NFL Network has reported that the Buffalo Bills are attempting to trade up so as to select USC left tackle Matt Kalil. Casserly asserts via his Twitter account that the Bills are offering their second-round pick in the trade proposal.

The report has been picked up by Pro Football Talk as well.

The tweet does not mention the Vikings as specifically being a team that Buffalo is conversing with in regards to any alleged trade partners but, if the rumor is true, common sense tells us that they would not make a trade with any other team in hopes of landing Kalil when the Vikings could preempt their effort by taking the top-rated offensive tackle for themselves.

It sounds like Rick Spielman was telling the truth yesterday when he told the media that he was fielding phone calls from teams with interest in acquiring the third overall pick.
